wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>This joint submission\u00a0details our concerns with regard to laws related to rape and other forms of sexual violence, and\u00a0procedures and practices which effectively deny access to justice to young and adolescent\u00a0survivors of sexual violence.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Specifically, we would like to express our concern about particular\u00a0provisions of the penal code that constitute a violation of Bolivia\u2019s obligations under the\u00a0International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), namely its provisions on rape and\u00a0estupro (a provision that provides for lesser punishment for perpetrators of rape against\u00a0adolescent girls), as well as the government\u2019s systemic failure to grant access to justice to\u00a0adolescent girls who are victims of sexual violence.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Submitted by:\u00a0Equality Now,\u00a0<a
