Amanda Manyame joined Equality Now in December 2020. She is now Director, Securing Digital Rights. Amanda works at the intersection of technology and law. She advises and conducts research on digital laws, policies, and human rights, and anticipates the legal risks and harms associated with technological innovation. Amanda has actively worked with civil society organisations, tech companies, and policy influencers to provide an understanding of the different considerations that influence tech policy, laws, and digital rights. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB); and a Master of Laws degree (LLM), which focuses on information and communications law.<\/p>\n

Amanda is a proponent of public interest technology and advocates for policy and regulatory development that creates an enabling environment for technological advancements that do not risk human rights and further perpetuate harm against women. Her favourite quote is by Ruth Bader Ginsburg: \u00abWomen belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn\u2019t be that women are the exception\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys CrossFit training, travelling, and cooking.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n
