Evans is a highly experienced Child Protection Specialist, gender and advocacy Program Development Expert, and Researcher. He joined Equality Now in 2025 as a Program Officer in Ending Sexual Exploitation. His role involves designing and implementing programs to prevent sexual exploitation and support survivors.
Evans holds a Master’s in Leadership and Management from DePaul University, Chicago, USA, a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management and Strategic Planning, is PMP and PMI certified, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies. He has extensive experience working with both national and international organizations, including Childline Kenya, the African Network for the Prevention and Protection Against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN RO) as a Programmes Manager, Terre des Hommes Foundation as a Child Protection Advisor, and Terre des Hommes Netherlands as a Program Manager. With over 13 years of practical experience in the humanitarian and development sectors, Evans has worked on child protection and implemented programs with organizations such as TdH-NL, Plan International, Save the Children, UNICEF, and the European Union.
He also serves as a consultant specializing in organizational policy and governance, organizational capacity assessments (OCA), research, and evaluations. Notably, Evans contributed to the development of Standard Operating Procedures for managing School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV) with GVRC and TSC. He has also been involved in the Technical Working Group (TWG) for the National Plan of Action on Combating Human Trafficking and the TWG for the National Child Protection Case Management and Referral Guidelines.
In his consulting role, Evans worked on evaluations and surveys, including the evaluation of the International Solidarity Foundation’s anti-GBV and anti-FGM projects in Kisii and Nyamira counties (April 2021–September 2021), a baseline survey for the i2i Plan International Project on disability and inclusion in Nairobi County (March–April 2021), and the End-Term Evaluation of the GBV-DANIDA Project implemented in 11 counties across Kenya (October 2020–January 2021).
Evans has also contributed to significant policy work, co-authoring a position paper titled “Strengthening Anti-Child Trafficking and Child Sexual Exploitation Interventions in the Eastern African Region,” which was presented to the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child in October 2020. He also co-authored a policy brief on the “Impact of COVID-19 on Child Trafficking and Child Sexual Exploitation within the Eastern African Region.”
As a Paul Harris Fellow, awarded by the Rotary Club District 5950 for his humanitarian support, Evans’ experience spans program development and management, resource mobilization, partnership development, capacity building, program operations, research, and monitoring and evaluation. He is an expert in human rights, livelihoods, human trafficking, unsafe migration, orphaned and vulnerable children (OVCs), sexual and reproductive health, and gender advocacy.
Currently, Evans serves as the Kenya CSOs Network Coordinator on Anti-Human Trafficking and Unsafe Migration, with support for better migration management from GIZ, implemented by IOM, UONDC, and Civipol.
Evans is based in Nairobi, Kenya, and speaks English and Swahili.
