Sally Ncube

Regional Representative, Southern Africa

Africa

As the Regional Representative of Southern Africa, Sally’s role is to cultivate partnerships, relations and regional networks movement building at national and regional levels to further Equality Now’s legal advocacy campaigns and strategic litigation to advance legal equality. She also supports the work of ending sexual exploitation in Malawi and the end sexual violence campaign in Zambia.

She is a holder of a Master of Science in Development Studies( Women’s University in Africa),  a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History and Development Studies (Midlands State University), a Diploma in Women’s Campaign School(Yale University), Diploma in Public Relations (Zimbabwe Institute of Public Relations) and a Diploma in Project Planning and Management(Christian College of Southern Africa).

Sally is a feminist development practitioner who is passionate about feminist leadership development, solidarity & movement building. She is also a bundle of positive energy who enjoys contributing to women and girls’ leadership development, personal empowerment, joy and healing journeys.

In her free time, she enjoys Art, Comedy, Music and dance.

Advancing digital rights and legal reforms to end technology-facilitated gender-based violence and protect women and girls in Southern Africa

Equality Now and AUDRi, in partnership with the Southern Africa Youth Forum, co-hosted a side event on Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) at the Southern Africa People’s Summit on 16 August 2025 in Antananarivo, Madagascar. The discussion centred on how advancing digital rights for women, girls, and other marginalised groups through legal reforms can help end TFGBV, with a particular focus on tackling online sexual exploitation and abuse.

Recommendations to SADC heads of State and Government on strengthening protection and support mechanisms for survivors of child marriage

Equality Now, together with the Stop Violence – Stop Child Marriage Project, YWCA Madagascar, Plan International, SADC Parliamentary Forum (SADC PF), and the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC), convened a side event at the Southern Africa People’s Summit on 15 August 2025 under the theme “Strengthening Protection and Support Mechanisms for Survivors of Child Marriage.”
