The sixty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York takes place from March 6 through 17. CSW representatives of Member States, UN entities, and accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from around the world will convene to promote equality and the empowerment of women and girls in the digital age through innovation, education, and technological change.
The UN plans to launch the Global Digital Compact (GDC) in September 2024. It is important for the Alliance for Universal Digital Rights (AUDRi), our collaboration between Equality Now and Women Leading in AI, to ensure that women’s security and rights in the digital space are a primary focus by adopting our Universal Digital Rights principles within the GDC.
To learn more, read our recent submission to the global digital compact, and our report, Words & Deeds: Sex Discrimination in Economic Status Laws.
While many of the events at CSW are reserved for registered attendees, there are many parallel events that are free and open to the public. Please find events that Equality Now will be involved in at CSW below.
For more up-to-date news about our CSW engagement, check back on this blog, and for a list of all open parallel events, please visit ngocsw.org.
