Leandra Becerra is a Colombian lawyer specializing in Criminal and Criminological Sciences, with nearly eight years of experience in human rights, gender justice, and peacebuilding.
Originally from Quibdó, Chocó, and a proud Black Afro-Colombian woman, she has worked on education, litigation, and advocacy for women affected by incarceration, violence, and conflict. Her expertise includes research on femicide, sexual violence, and restorative justice, as well as direct support for victims and reintegration programs.
Leandra approaches her work with an intersectional, ethnic-racial, and decolonial perspective and has collaborated with both civil society and state institutions. She has also partnered with Equality Now as a consultant and panelist on FGM, sexual violence, and intersectionality. As our focal point in Colombia, she leads campaigns on FGM and sexual violence.
