Summary

The submission details our concerns regarding Lebanon’s failure to uphold women’s right to equality under the nationality law, to protect adolescent girls from sexual violence, and highlights the need to amend discriminatory family law provisions. We make key recommendations for action to the government of Lebanon so as to better address these areas of concern.

Submitted by Equality Now, the Lebanese Council to Resist Violence against Woman (LECORVAW), the Committee for the Follow-Up on Women’s Issues (CFUWI), and the Global Campaign for Equal Nationality Rights.
