Equality Now, Sisma Mujer, CLADEM, Asociación Civil El Paso, Asociación de Mujeres de Guatemala AMG, DEMOS, Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), Consorcio Ley Maria Da Penha, and GAMBE respectfully submit our contributions to the Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls.

Key recommendations

We focus our concerns on the nexus between custody and guardianship cases, violence against women and children, and focus on the misuse of the parental alienation syndrome (PAS and their different terminology variants) by family courts in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region, with special analysis of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Uruguay.
