Janette Akhilgova joined Equality Now in June 2018 as a feminist activist, researcher and project manager who led projects building women’s movement, building capacity of women’s activists and groups and supporting sustainability of human rights organizations in Russia. In Equality Now Janette is leading campaigns in Central Asia, aimed at increasing access to justice for women and girls including women and girls with disabilities and redefining sexual violence laws.
Janette has Master’s degrees in Linguistics and Public Administration.
She is inspired by incredibly strong women around the world who manage to believe in good and make change in the most challenging contexts.
Outside of work, Janette enjoys learning new things, traveling and talking to inspiring people.
