Mexico- Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review At Its 44th session of the UPR Working Group of the Human Rights Council July 2023

This submission outlines some of the continuing challenges in the criminal justice system and the legislation of Mexico in addressing sexual violence crimes. It provides recommendations for improving access to justice for sexual violence victims and survivors through improving legislation and criminal justice procedures. Developing effective criminal law mechanisms for the elimination of sexual violence is a fundamental step in achieving substantive and transformative equality for women and girls in Mexico.
