Our Team
Amy joined Equality Now in 2022. As the Global Director of Development, Amy oversees Equality Now’s Fund Development Team, working with Equality Now’s Leadership Team & Board to shape organizational direction, policies, and growth, and lead the Development Team in forging strong philanthropic partnerships worldwide to fund our critical work.
Amy has worked at the intersection of human rights, social justice, and philanthropy for over two decades, serving in senior leadership positions for the last 10 years. Most recently, she worked at a consulting firm, where she served in key leadership positions, assessed and developed fundraising strategies, and facilitated strategic planning processes for a range of non-profit organizations.
Prior to that, Amy led philanthropy programs and helped forge strategic partnerships to strengthen movements for mental health, women’s rights, criminal justice reform, and genocide prevention. She also served as a Producer on an Emmy-nominated creative documentary on identity in the American South, which has been featured as an exhibit in the Philadelphia for Modern Art and other leading cultural institutions.
Amy holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology from American University, where her studies focused on race, class, gender, and social justice, and a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology & Sociology from the University of Missouri.
Amy is driven by a belief that every woman and girl deserves to lead a life that is free of violence and discrimination, and that won’t happen until we are equal decision-makers in our lives, families, communities, and counties. In the words of Audre Lorde, “I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own.”
Originally from New Orleans, Amy currently lives in Washington, DC. Outside of work, she enjoys rock climbing, traveling, creative projects and enjoying music and nature in all its forms.
