Our Team

As the Global  Institutional Giving Officer, Haimanot’s role is to help grow and diversify the institutional funding for Equality Now across Africa, the Americas, the MENA Region and Asia. 

She has 15 + years of experience in development with a focus on gender equality, working in different African countries. Haimanot started work in South Sudan with Save the Children, working on a girls’ education program. She has since worked with bilateral donor agencies in Ethiopia, managing grants for women-focused NGOs and government institutions. She also has project proposal development experience and has worked with NGOs like VSO in South Africa and Plan International in Egypt.

Originally from Ethiopia, Haimanot is currently based in Geneva, Switzerland. She likes to travel, read, and enjoys art and craft in her free time. 

She is fluent in English, Amharic and Intermediate French.
