Our Team

As the Grants and Compliance Officer, Sofia’s role is to support the Programs and Finance team in monitoring the grants against donor and organizational requirements, processes and procedures. 

Sofia has more than 15 years of experience in the Grants and Project Management field. She has previously worked and specialized in all phases of the development and emergency projects from conception to actual management, monitoring and reporting (both financial and content) until evaluation and audit. Sofia has also worked on projects involving donors from regions such as East and West Africa, as well as the Middle East and South Asia, as well as within sectors including human rights, education, gender equality, diversity and inclusion. 

Sofia considers herself an intersectional feminist; she is inspired by a quote from Rosa Parks, “You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it’s right”

Originally from Parma, Sofia is currently based in London. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian. In her free time, she enjoys travelling and discovering new cultures and habits. Her topics of interest include politics and activism.
