Our Team

As the Global Individual and Major Giving Lead, Starr helps to build and strengthen relationships by connecting individuals with Equality Now’s mission and important work. Starr loves to learn; this has led to her pursuit of multiple degrees in different areas of study. She grew up surrounded by and learning from a strong group of feminist grassroots activists whose work upheld her community, kept women safe, and demanded accountability from leaders and systems. That experience set the course for her life in all aspects, and she hopes to bring that forward in her work at EN.

One of her favourite quotes is by George Bernard Shaw, “I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.”

Her hometown is Eugene, Oregon, and she resides in New York City. Outside of work, Starr loves the outdoors, running, reading, travelling, music, and wine.

She is fluent in English, French, Spanish and some Korean.
