Simone Lahorgue (Brazil)

Simone Lahorgue is the founding Partner of Lahorgue Advogadas Associadas, an all-women Brazilian law firm. Previously, she implemented and was the head of the Media & Entertainment and Privacy & Data Protection Practices of a renowned Brazilian full-service law firm for 11 years. She was also General Counsel at Grupo Globo, the biggest media group in Latin America, from 1997 to 2008.

She is a professor at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) Law School where she teaches Media & Entertainment and Privacy & Data Protection Law. Simone is an arbitrator for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). At the International Bar Association (IBA), she is a member of the Advisory Board for the Technology Law Committee, where she served as co-chair (2015-2016). She was also chair of the Sports Law Subcommittee (2020-2021). She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional / Europe CIPP – E; Certified Information Privacy Manager – CIPM; and Certified Data Protection Officer – CDPO/BR by the International Association of Privacy Professional (IAPP).
