Summary

Across Kenya, women and girls continue to experience widespread sexual violence, trafficking, child marriage and female genital mutilation. Important laws and policies exist, but enforcement remains weak, and support services are limited. Legal loopholes and discriminatory marriage laws further restrict women’s rights. To protect all women and girls, Kenya must fully implement existing laws, invest in survivor-centred services, and ensure that legal reforms promote equality and safety for every community. Explore our factsheets covering these themes.
