For nearly a century, the path to constitutional equality in the US has been framed primarily as a women’s issue. But true equality benefits everyone. Gender inequality, rooted in outdated roles and stereotypes, limits opportunity, well-being, and full participation in society for all people, including men and boys.
The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) would protect everyone from sex-based discrimination, helping men and boys challenge harmful stereotypes, take on caregiving roles without stigma, and access justice in areas where they, too, face inequality. That’s why Equality Now has partnered with Equimundo and the ERA Coalition to engage men in advancing constitutional equality through the ERA.
