Equality Now’s May 2019 testimony to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in support of a bill to end child marriage in the state. The testimony focused on the negative impact of child marriage, U.S. obligations under international law, and the importance of both parties being able to fully consent to marriage. It also recommended an amendment to remove the exception for statutory rape.
