Elizabeth C. Plácido Ríos is an advocate and program coordinator with over a decade of experience advancing human rights in Latin America and the Caribbean. Her work has focused on sexual and reproductive rights, gender equality, and preventing violence against women and girls.
Elizabeth has contributed to constitutional reforms, national diagnostics on femicide in Mexico, and international human rights reporting, while remaining active in regional feminist networks and campaigns.
Before joining Equality Now, Elizabeth worked with local partners in Mexico to advocate for legal reforms and protect access to justice programs, and she collaborated with Equality Now as a contractor on research and advocacy initiatives. As Associate, she leads our efforts in Mexico to end sexual violence, while also supporting regional and global advocacy.
