Juan Carlos Camacho Sofrony is Equality Now’s Global Director of Finance & Administration. With over 13 years of international experience, he has led financial, compliance, HR, and administrative operations across Africa, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.
Most recently, Juan Carlos served as Procurement and Finance Director for LEAP Global, a $107M infectious disease initiative spanning eight countries. He previously oversaw operations, finance, and compliance for a USAID project in Mexico City and directed the global Finance and Compliance Review team at Chemonics International in Washington, D.C.
Juan Carlos holds a Master’s in Accounting and Auditing from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s in Business Management from the University of the District of Columbia. Fluent in English and Spanish, he is dedicated to building high-performing teams and strengthening systems that support mission-driven impact worldwide.
