The American Bar Association Backs the Equal Rights Amendment – Here’s Why You Should Too
Mel Bailey joined Equality Now in 2022 as the Communications Officer for North America at Equality Now. In this role, she helps drive legislative change for women and girls in North America and around the world by ensuring their voices are heard, informing them of how the passage of certain laws is central to gender equality, and analyzing how discriminatory laws continue to negatively impact real opportunities for true equality.
Before joining Equality Now, she worked as an international journalist and videographer. Her favorite quote is, “The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them.” – Ida B. Wells
In her free time, you can find her getting lost in a book or trying a new experimental recipe in the kitchen. Based in Brooklyn, New York, Mel is fluent in English and French.
