Paleki Ayang

Gender Advisor, MENA

Middle East and North Africa

Paleki joined Equality Now in November 2021 as a Gender Advisor, MENA, implementing programs in the Middle East and North Africa, mostly on family law. She also works on advocacy around ending sexual and gender-based violence and political participation in Palestine and Egypt.

Based in Khartoum, Paleki has an LLB in Law from the University of Juba, an MA in Human Rights from the University of London, and is currently studying for an MSc in Governance, Peace, and Security from Africa Nazarene University.

Outside of work, Paleki enjoys travelling, singing, and mentoring young women. Her favourite quote is from Maya Angelou: “A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will without pretence and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself and only herself.”

Paleki is available for interviews in English and Arabic.
